How outsourcing design and production of a PCB enabled our Client to generate significant additional revenue.
Problem:
Client ‘B’, a company that supplies and hires professional broadcast equipment, required a simple audio amplifier board to build into an existing camera adaptor housing, for a Microwave link. However, the Client lacked the resources to effect the design in-house.
Solution:
Working to very tight timescales, a prototype PCB was designed and given to the Customer for testing. Although all the original specifications had been met, the Client omitted one vital parameter. After a small modification to the prototype, it was returned to the Client within 24 hours.
Result:
This enhanced prototype far exceeded their expectations and gave them better performance than they had hoped. They ordered full production PCB’s, and again working to very tight deadlines, the Client received their order two days ahead of their required delivery date, along with all relevant documentation and test results.
This Client has since placed orders for further PCB’s, and a new design contract is about to be finalised.
